Market and Economic Analysis Working Group
The Markets and Economic Analysis Working Group is responsible for examining issues related to market reviews, such as market definition, assessment of market power and, more generally, market developments with significant impact on competition. Such factors as network deployments, innovation and investments benefiting the competitors, customers and consumers are crucial aspects of analyses performed by the working group.
Iulia Zaim-Grigore has been working for the National Authority for Management and Regulation in Communications of Romania (ANCOM) since 2010, her main line of activity being focused on the assessment of competition conditions in the telecommunications sector and the imposition of ex ante regulation. Other responsibilities concerned the collection, processing and verification of various statistical data required for the smooth running of activities within ANCOM’s remit.
Iulia has been part of the Body of European Regulators for Electronic Communications family as a regular drafter and contributor to the work of several BEREC Working Groups since 2012, as well as to the ad hoc BEREC Opinions in several Phase II investigation cases. In the period 2018-2019, she joined the BEREC Office as a seconded National Expert, while between 2021 and 2022 she co-chaired BEREC’s Statistics and Indicators WG.
Iulia holds a degree in International Economics from the Academy of Economic Studies in Bucharest (Romania) and a Master of Arts in International Economic Relations from the University of Konstanz (Germany).
