Rapporteur on DMA, IMCO committee
Andreas Schwab has been a member of the European Parliament since 2004. As the EPP Group’s coordinator in the European Parliament’s influential Committee on Internal Market and Consumer Protection (IMCO), Mr Schwab has been successfully steering key legislation through parliament, such as the Consumer Rights Directive (2011), Network and Information Security Directive (2013), the Antitrust Damages Directive (2014) and the European Competition Network Directive (2018). He has authored important European Parliament resolutions on “Single Market Governance” (2012), on supporting consumer rights in the digital single market (2014) as well as the Report on Digital Taxation (2021).
Mr Schwab is currently the Parliament’s rapporteur on the regulation of the Digital Markets Act (DMA).
