Planning and Future Trends Working Group
The Planning and Future Trends Working Group is responsible for identifying and analysing emerging trends and issues in electronic communications relevant to BEREC’s mandate. It also plays a crucial role in developing the BEREC Work Programme. Moreover, this working group is actively involved in BEREC’s international and inter-institutional cooperation.
María Ruiz Merida is a lawyer with over 15 years of experience in regulatory matters. She is currently responsible for International Affairs in the telecommunications sector at the National Markets and Competition Authority (CNMC), Spain. She joined the regulator in 2010 as an expert in legal and regulatory matters.
She has been a Body of European Regulators for Electronic Communications Contact Network member since 2011 and has actively participated in several BEREC Working Groups such as Market and Economic Analysis, Regulatory Framework, End Users or Remedies. She coordinates CNMC activities in other international sectoral telecommunications, such as the Latin American Forum of Telecommunications Regulatory Entities, the European Mediterranean Regulators Group, the Eastern Partnership Electronic Communications Regulators Network or the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development.
